Nootropics

Nootropics, sometimes known as ‘smart drugs,’ are substances that are either natural or synthetic, and are generally used for increasing cognition and memory, thus better facilitating the process of learning. They are very popular among students and athletes.

A very common nootropic in the southern parts of South America is Yerba Mate, a green, naturally-caffeinated tea that grows naturally in the arid lands of the region. Other very common, every day nootropics in the Western world may include something as simple as a cup of coffee. However, in performance-oriented circles, such as those of the entrepreneur, student, business person or athlete, more highly-concentrated and targeted products are often preferred. These may include supplements containing substances such as L-Theanine, Creatine, Bacopa Monnieri, Rhodiola Rosea, Panax Ginseng, and Ginkgo Biloba.

All of the mentioned substances here are naturally-growing substances that are extracted from plants or roots and condensed or processed into supplements that are easy to consume and digest. Whether common, everyday products, or condensed and concentrated supplements, the main objective of the consumption of nootropics is to enhance performance and motivation, memory, focus, creativity and intelligence.
