Visionary Artists

Amanda Sage

Amanda_SageAmanda Sage is at the forefront of a new breed of visionary/interdimensional artists using art as a tool for personal, spiritual, planetary growth and transformation.

Sam Bull from Leap Now helped guide her in connecting with the revolutionary midwife Robin Lim in Bali, and initiating the first contact with the artist and teacher Philip Rubinov Jacobson.

After graduating she went to Bali as a volunteer for close to a year, and amongst other projects & exotic distractions, illustrated an herbal book with over 70 indigenous plants and herbs for the natural Birthing Clinic, now called Bumi Sehat. In this time she also extended production of her Batik clothing and design project that she had started in high school with her dear friend Leilea Satori, and this continued on amidst bouncing around the globe between the US, Vienna and Bali till the year 2000.

Through meeting Philip Rubinov Jacobson and Michael Fuchs in 1996, she was invited to do a private 2 year intensive experiment to study the techniques of painting and etching of the old masters as an apprentice under the classical/fantastic artist Michael Fuchs in Vienna Austria.

Mariela de la Paz

mariela

Mariela began practicing her painting skills without live models with her “Underwater Series”. The tropical sea life of Micronesia inspired her bold, intense use of colors and contrast. However, her snorkeling and diving experiences would manifest themselves several years later, as she was not a painter at the time. These memories would emerge in a dreamy way, into her canvas, giving her work not a realistic image, but a surreal quality.

She was declared legally blind on her left eye after a piece of glass flew into it slitting the cornea in half at age 8. Yet, she have learned to use this disability in her work. Through this eye, colors are muted, and lines diffused.  She uses my “inward eye” to tap into the spirit world, creating art from a unique perspective, while her dominant eye guides her bold use of color and physicality. In her art are traces of the spiritual and the physical.

PhuturePrimitive

Phuture
Phutureprimitive is the moniker of Bay Area producer and songwriter Rain. Early childhood photos reveal Rain sitting at the piano plinking keys, grinning from ear to ear… a true sign of things to come. Continuing his early fascination, Rain was later drawn to electronic music, inspired by its ability to combine the best of organically played instruments and the synthetic pleasures of sounds more exotic to the human ear. After beginning a DJ career in the 90s, Rain began incorporating the music he was making in his home studio into his DJ sets. That was all it took to trigger a full blown love affair with electronic music and the process of its creation… and Phutureprimitive was born.
Phutureprimitive’s music is best described as dripping wet love drops of nasty mind melting sonic bliss. Lush melodies drift across intricate rhythms, groove heavy beats and warm, fuzzy bass lines. Often exploring a dark and dense palette, there is also a profound sense of tranquility and beauty, engaging the listener into hypnotic movement and often escalating into a full-on kinetic experience. Shimmering with cinematic qualities, his music ultimately speaks to the body, mind and soul.
