‘Cuñaq’ Medicine Song Lyrics & Downtempo Remix by Mose

This traditional Peruvian folk song is a beautiful and joyful prayer to the sacred Cuñaq spring. Mose, a DJ and downtempo electronic music producer based in Lago Atlitlán Guatemala, remixes this medicine song circle favorite with hypnotic, shamanic beats, making this track perfect for your Ecstatic Dance movement meditation. The original track is by Raio, featuring Sophie Sôfrēē.

Cuñac is a song of praise, and at the same time, a prayer to the Waters. It’s intended to help bring purification and renewal to those who are listening to it. This was based on a traditional Peruvian water song. It could also mean shedding tears as a way to see the world in a new light, while being joyful and celebrating at the same time.

“Raio – Cuñac (Mose Remix)” Letras en Español

Desde cuñaq viene
Aguita serpentiando por las acequias y en remolinas
Hacia nuestras vidas

De cantar hualinas
Y a la vez llorando
Toditas mis penas se acabaron
Pachamama esta de fiesta

Una estrellita
Que alegre me decia
Canta cantorcito a la aguita
A la aguita madre cuñaq

De cantar hualinas
Y a la vez llorando
Toditas mis penas se acabaron
Pachamama esta de fiesta

“Raio – Cuñaq (Mose Remix)” Song Lyrics in English

From Cuñaq you come
Winding through the streams and whirlpools
Into our lives

Singing songs of water, and at the same time crying
All my sorrows are gone, Pachamama is celebrating

A little star, so happy she said, sing, little singer to the water
To the water of Mother Cuñaq

Singing songs of water, and at the same time crying
All my sorrows are gone, Pachamama is celebrating

About Mose

Mose spends much of his time in Guatemala where cacao ceremonies, kirtan, and ecstatic dance have had a major influence on his productions and DJ style. It is on Lake Atitlan that he founded the weekly SunSet Cacao Dances where members of the community have the opportunity to journey deep into dance in a container of deep intention free of alcohol. Having been nomadic since 2011, he has developed a sound all his own through interaction with cultures from around the world. He finds a way to fuse the organic elements of tribal traditions with modern production techniques in order to create an entrancing journey for both relaxed listeners and those eager to move their bodies.

Mose plays organic midtempo/downtempo steady music. He likes to call it deep tribal. For him, music is an opportunity to journey into deep spaces. Whenever he is producing or playing, it’s his intention to be taken, to let go into the depths. It is his ongoing practice to open channels, as well as let something more than his self flow through. He says that the steady beat of drums has led to the discovery of beautiful places within his innermost being over and over again, which is clearly evident in his production. He always reminds himself that if he doesn’t “get high” from the music he creates, then he can’t expect others to appreciate it. For him, great music is supposed to open altered states of consciousness, without necessarily taking any type of substance.

Mose has spent days in silent retreat, and this has taken a primary role in his path to self discovery and subsequent expression. He finds that entering into extended periods of silence connects him deeper with spirit. He works closely with his dreams, incorporating the hermetic qabalistic tree of life as a map. Doing this allows him to refine his ability to listen to a higher guidance in order to deepen his alignment, thus bringing about more peace and serenity in his life and in his music.
