Elayne Kalila Doughty has been on the path of passionate service for the past 20 years. Kalila’s background is as a licensed therapist. After becoming aware that what she was doing didn’t really fit under her definition of a therapist, she met with a spiritual teacher who helped Kalila receive a profound transformation. This allowed her to enter that same lineage of spiritual teaching. Kalila eventually left her psychotherapy practice and fully entered the role of teaching spirituality through an online temple.

It can be difficult to know when you’re receiving spiritual information, and how to interpret it! Almost anything can be a source of spirituality these days. Kalila explains that we all have access to some kind of lineage, or spirituality, intuitively. Getting far enough out of the ego, and being quiet enough, can allow these spiritual insights to arrive naturally.

Kalila’s psychedelic experiences have helped her focus on the idea of integrity – a feeling of balance and authenticity, detracted from the ego. This has been hugely important in her spiritual path, and in determining the Truth of spiritual insights.

What does it mean to be a Modern Priestess? Since there are very few intact Priestess lineages remaining, a student has to be willing to enter a state of remembrance of past lineages. A Priestess must be willing to awaken herself and not hide any aspects of her energy. Sacred femininity is paradoxical, bringing together contradictory qualities, and a Modern Priestess must work to embrace these contradictions.
