Worldwide Experts on Consciousness are Heading to Prague

In 4 days, through over 140 speakers, 40 workshops, 50 poster presentations the worldwide expert community focused on topics on transpersonal psychology, inner ecology, psychedelics, shamanism, mysticism, spirituality, art and many more will review the reality at the International Transpersonal Conference 2017 that will take place in Top Hotel Prague, Czech Republic, from September 28th – October 1st, 25 years after the conference was first held in Prague.

According to Ervin László the only way we can sustain humanity is through changing the ways we think and experience. Could a conference provide such a change in the minds of attendees?

Stan Grof – the cofounder of transpersonal psychology, co-creator of the holotropic breathwork technique, researcher of psychedelics
Amit Goswami – quantum physicist who proved that “We are not only a material being.”
Raymond Moody – the author of Life after Life who while claiming “I am not afraid of death at all” helped to change the way we are looking at dying and death itself
Charles Grob – Pioneer in the field of psychedelic research
Rick Doblin – the man behind future legalization of MDMA, founder and director of the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies, the biggest in the world of its kind
Alex Grey – world famous artist who is inspired by using various psychedelics
David Steind-Rast – benedictine brother who teaches about gratitude and how to be happy

The idea of ITC 2017, entitled “Beyond Materialism – Towards Wholeness”, is to follow the tradition of large international transpersonal gatherings by celebrating the 50th anniversary of the existence of transpersonal psychology. Under the auspices and in the presence of Stanislav Grof, the event will be an open discussion with the goal of exploring and evaluating the progress that has been made in the fields of psychology, spirituality, psychedelics and consciousness, as well as the questions of how we can use scientific data and recent findings from these fields in order to increase and sustain quality of life on Earth.

The thematic tracks were picked carefully in an effort to cover the transpersonal topic as broadly as possible. The attendees can look forward to panels that will be dedicated not only to Transpersonal Psychology, Psychotherapy and Clinical Studies, but also to Inner Ecology, Collective Psyche and Social Transformation. As we are witnessing a renaissance in psychedelic research, Psychedelics will be discussed from the point of view of Science, Spirituality, and significant meaning will be given to their Therapeutical Potential. With the resurgence of psychedelic and transpersonal themes affecting the modern search for understanding the universe and the nature of the mind,
The thematic track Shamanism and Its Potential for Modern Man will explore the wisdom and methodology of older traditions, as well as their capacity to inform our way of life in the 21st century and beyond.

Another thematic track titled Mystical Spirituality as a Link between World Religions will try to explore the value of mystical traditions in building a bridge towards mutual inter-faith understanding, a topic of critical importance in our increasingly complex world. There are many of us who have already tried to open their minds and look inside themselves by using the technique of holotropic breathwork – and in some cases, that exploration has been accompanied by a strong visual experience. Therefore we are pleased to also open a thematic track that will look at Holotropic Art as an Expression of Inner Process.

The conference is organized by the Czech Transpersonal Association, the HOLOS Centre, the Club of Budapest Czech Republic and the Czech Psychedelic Society, in cooperation with EUROTAS, the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), the International Transpersonal Association (ITA) and the Association of Transpersonal Psychology (ATP).

Lorna Liana is a new media strategist and lifestyle business coach to visionary entrepreneurs. She travels the world while running her business as a digital nomad. Lorna's boutique agency provides “done for you” web design, development and online marketing services for social ventures, sustainable brands, transformational coaches and new paradigm thought leaders. She is also a personal development junkie, and 20 year practitioner of shamanism, with extensive training in Tibetan Bon Shamanism and the ayahuasca traditions of the Amazon Basin. A self-professed ayahuasca snob and perennial ayahuasca tourist, Lorna has been drinking ayahuasca since 2004. She's been in approximately 150 ayahuasca ceremonies (from terrible to fantastic), and tasted wide variety of ayahuasca brews (from awful to exquisite). Her ayahuasca experience spans 30+ different shamans and facilitators, 7 indigenous tribes, several Brazilian churches, and a host of neo-shamanic circles, in Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Europe, the US, and Asia. Through this widely-varied background, she hopes to shed some perspective on the globalization of ayahuasca.
